Trinant entertained Hollybush in division 3C east. Trinant exerted early pressure from the start, a penalty took play to the visitors 22. A knock on from a ruck turned into a scrum 10 metres out. A drive by the pack saw flanker Scott Rees score in the corner well converted by Jamie Lyons 7pts-0 after 5 minutes. Trinant went close to adding to their score with Dan Burge and Dean Pitt both stopped short of the line. Following a ruck the ball was moved to no10 Lyons to score which he converted to lead 14pts-0 after 10 minutes. The Troggs were well on top, following a good run by centre Lee Pidgeon offloaded to wing Chris Meyrick, who was stopped just short of the line. From the resulting ruck the ball was worked back to Pidgeon to score in the corner, well converted by Lyons from the touchline, 21pts-0 after 20 minutes. From a break from his own 22 Lyons passed to Pidgeon to put no 8 Phil Pritchard to score, converted by Lyons 28pts-0 after 25 minutes. Credit to Hollybush they dug in and for 10 minutes put pressure on the home team and were awarded a penalty try after their centre chipped over the defence only to be taken out without the ball 28pts-7 on 35 minutes. A quick restart by Lyons taken by lock Adrian Greening passed to wing Dan Rossitter who was stopped 5 metres out, ruck ball gave possession to Lyons who put a well executed cross kick for Meyrick to score in the corner. Another fine goalkick by Lyons ended the half 35pts-7. Trinant started the second half as they did the first following good runs by Lyons, Pidgeon and centre Dom B Jones to set up a ruck for Rees to go over for his second try, Lyons landing 6 from 6 conversions. Trinant completely dominated the second half, Meyrick getting his second try on 55minutes, further tries came for the Troggs full back David Morgan crossing the line on 65 minutes to take the score to 54pts -7. In the final 15 minutes Trinant added tries through Pritchard following a break from the base of the scrum, a try for Dean Pitt and Meyrick completing his hat trick for a final score of 73pts-7. Credit to Hollybush who came with a bare XV they never gave up and didn't revert to passive scrums. This was a good all round Trogg performance however men of the match went Lyons for landing nine conversions of the eleven tries from all areas of the park, plus a try, and to Adrian Greening for a high work rate combined with making and covering a lot of ground.
